The Islamic Center for Development of Trade (ICDT) held the 34th Session of its Board of Directors on 7 and 8 March 2017 at the Sheraton Hotel Casablanca. ICDT's Board of Directors is composed of the following Member States: Saudi Arabia, Gambia, Gabon, Egypt, Iran, Malaysia, Mali, Morocco and Turkey. These countries were elected by the other Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) during ICDT’s General Assembly held in Jeddah in April 2015. During ICDT’s Board of Directors Meeting, chaired by His Excellency the Secretary General of the Organization for Islamic Cooperation, the Council examined the Center's Activity Report, endorsed the final closing accounts for 2016 and adopted the work program for the year 2018.
Trade among OIC Member States reached a rate of 20.33% in 2015. The objectives of the OIC Ten-Year Plan of Action 2005-2015 set by the "Third Extraordinary Summit of Makkah Al Mukaramah" in December 2005, which consisted of increasing the share of intra-OIC trade to 20% in 2015, have therefore been achieved.
